I'm preparing for an upcoming 7th Sea 2e game, on which a metaplot is forming. I'd like to get some input on which of the temptations of man would each nation represent? For instance which one would each nation be more likely to give into?

Here is my first attempt but I welcome thoughts on where things should change:

Avalon - Pride

Montaigne - Gluttony

Castille - Lust

Eisen - Despair

Sarmatian - Wrath

Ussura - Sloth

Vodacce - Envy

Vendel - Greed

Hmm, first thought is that I would have given Eisen - Wrath and Castille - Pride, but given you added Despair, Eisen has to have that, and I don't think Avalon is really a Lust kind of place. So, yea, your list works for me.

Despair was in the original "Temptations of Man" which had 8 (Though they became the 7 Deadly Sins later on). When they went and added an 8th Nation, I figured I'd use that since I agreed it fit so well with Eisen. As Dave has pointed out, you could make the case for any nation for any of them, so I was trying to go with broad strokes. Ussura was the hardest really to come up with a compelling reason for any of them and Sloth was only justified by the mantra that "Matushka provides" taken to an extreme.

And then Dave misread that as "Matushka Abides" and a whole new campaign idea set on the border of Ussura and Sarmatia appeared in his head.

That Spirit Skin really tied the room together...
