Welcome

Postby Black Jack Rackham » Tue Nov 02, 2010 1:14 pm

Congratulations on finding your way here! The forum is very new so I'll be adding lots of content as I begin to realize that I need it. Other than that, feel free to poke around.

Oh and as for introductions, I am Black Jack Rackham, your humble Admin and (thus far) Moderator. If you see something that needs to be added or something you'd really like to be added, don't hesitate to let me know.

Aww... I wanted to be the first (not-Mark) poster.... :)

Now I'm all upset, so I'm gonna nitpick :P

On the main page, I think I'd either switch to a non-serif font or kick the size up a couple points. I find it a bit hard to read, and I don't see that on most web pages.
I think I'd rather have the sidebar menu have all the options all the time, maybe with the selected page as non-linked text. This would avoid one problem I found -- the "Home" option isn't available on the Links page menu.

FAQ page -- maybe make the references to the forums in the answers links. And make your email address a "mailto:" link. Clickable is good!

Character Creation -- above link comment applies to the Templates page reference in Step 2.

Templates -- maybe have the templates under each nation as a list or in a table? They kind of run together as they are.

Credits -- another email address that could be a mailto: link.

Nitpicking aside, I think it looks good. I couldn't find any broken links, either! :)

I'm here. Have not nosed around yet. Did notice the "roll" playing typo in your intro paragraph.

As always, I am totally available to answer questions, edit or create anything you may need.

Progress so far:
I haven't located Rebecca's missed word, nor Sal's role/roll problem. (EDIT AGAIN, found the "roll" sal mentioned and fixed it)
As for DrK's san-serif/serif debate, that was a conscious decision I personally like serif. BUT if most of you don't I'd be willing to change it.
Fixed the base font size to medium
Also fixed the sidebar to include the deadlinks (and you're totally right about that, it looks much better)
I'll get to adding more clickable links to the FAQ - EDIT DONE
mailto: I haven't gotten to the point in the book where they describe that, :( - EDIT FIXED
Im working on generating a box around each template link (So they're all separated)

What a surprise to see this site up already! Well done Mark!

Sister Sonya is my Altamira character, so I have decided to sign on with her moniker rather than Cristina or any of my others from non-7th Sea sites. :P

It was a combination of size and serif that made it hard for me to read. I don't have anything against the serifs, and the new size solves the problem.

Hey Mark, just found my way here using bing, from the work computer. Came right up right away. I was amazed, since bing usually takes forever. So yep, you are on the big wide web. I was just seeing if I could find you without using a web link already sent to me.

See you this Sunday. 7th Sea this week, right?

Good to be back...here...or something. I've been meaning to get back into some good 7th Sea games, so this should be great!

Thought I'd join in here since we've now beta tested two adventures and successfully broke one. Maybe I'll figure out exactly how to play the Vodacce Fate Witch with a bit more immersion.
