It looks like my payment went through a few minutes ago, so I'm going to hope for the best. I tell you though, my first year at Origins I stood in line and registered for everything that way. Still less frustrating. Of course, GAMA wasn't in charge at that point. :P

Some of us remember mailing them a check and a list of requests and waiting until you arrived to find out what you got into.

Took me about three hours yesterday, but it appears that I successfully registered.

So, when the system went down Wednesday, PA #8443 was suspended in my "cart".

I paid for by credit card shortly after 12AM CDT when the system came back up. Then went about requesting 11 more events and paid for them about 35 minutes later.

Of course, #8443 now does not appear in my list of events and I have a $4 credit.

I've asked Ms. Quick of Origins Registrations to look into this....

So, with Dave's hardball commentary as to overflow of events, I've picked up a backup PA, #8431, at 7PM, just in case.

I know it can be rough to take the "hardball" stand about the number of folks at the table, but I completely agree with the reasons Dave cited for why it needs to be that way.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in Columbus!!

Well, at my age I don't need the spotlight much in the PA slot; almost all of my character's goals are pretty singular; and I can have my share of a PA done otherwise at most any time.

For the individual events, it's different, and I can agree more with Dave's conclusions forthem. Perhaps something might be worked out in overflow situations.

Perhaps not.

Sorry. I wasn't clear. My PA could be done at any time, off-line, away from the event.

I wasn't referring to PA time for spotlight. But it applies there too.

Many of you would be surprised at the level of effort it takes to put TEN of you in positions to do something cool during a four hour game AND do it in a manner that seems organic and keeps the rest of the table from stealing your moment.

I at least get some input on the plots, Ken is pulling it off with near zero lead in time.

We want you all enjoying more "look what I did to save Altamira" and less " the rest of the guys handled things while I wrestled a bear". (not saying the bear was uncool, just less crucial).

You are the hero, you should get time to do lots of cool things.

I wouldn't be surprised at all. And, that's one reason while the 2.0 version of 7th Sea, and other similar FATE-like narrative systems, don't work with more than a few players.

As such, Star Wars Edge of the Empire is also a major disappointment IMO.

Just returned from a business trip to Asia, which screwed up my registration plans. I will have to depend on the kindness of friends to allow me to use my generics for episode 14 and the PA....

Charlie,

The PA still had openings for both 7-11 slots a few hours ago.

edit: 8431 has 3 openings, and 8439 has 4 openings, as of 7:05 CDT

Looks like I'm in a Deadlands Noir LARP? Time to pack a dress...

No writing panels at all for my tastes. More trips to North Street Market/solo lunches!

Think I overbooked myself. Got three games shoved in and erased all my "go to the dealers hall" time. Anyone remember how to turn tickets back in?

I believe you just delete the games and a credit will appear on your account [an amount in ($.$$)]. You will then have to get a refund at the appropriate stall at the Con.

You are asking the wrong guy. It took me forever just to figure out that to register for events I had to go to "Sessions" followed by "Choose Sessions" in order to see what events were available. I'd suggest calling GAMA and asking them.

Oh and report back so everyone else knows what to do :D

Just go to the trouble desk at Origins and take up their valuable time in order to get your refund. Serves them right.

This is what we have done for several years now.

Grrrrr......Just went to check my "sessions" on the Origins website, and somehow, the 4 generics that I purchased when I registered (back on January 7th) have mysteriously disappeared. I am showing an $8 credit.
