Just a reminder GenCon folks. Housing Registration begins Sunday at Noon EST. To get in the queue to get a spot, you need a badge by tomorrow night (Friday) midnight. Then you'll get an email Saturday to tell you what time to log in.

Wow, Housing was it's usual nightmare (of which I'm immune since I get a room outside the block). My login time was 10pm and all downtown was gone at 2:30. As of now, 48 hours afterward, there are no rooms left in the block (which has places up to 15+ miles away from downtown). Sheesh.

Bonus for me this year! I will be able to book next year's room before GenCon 50 even starts (since it will be two weeks earlier next year).

My friends and I went outside of the downtown for the first time since GenCon came to Indianapolis. We got a reservation outside of the Interstate Perimeter months ago.

We had never gone through the Con-Block before (and never had needed to before as there are facilities under the radar).

So, yes, we will have to drive and park. But, no, we are no longer paying so much as twice the going rate any other time. The Days Inn was $79 that first GenCon, I believe.

Just a quick update for anyone who might be chomping at the bit to get a peek at GenCon's event schedule. Ours has changed (sort of).

Apparently GC does GM badges for groups (which we are) differently than for individuals so they can add more than one GM per event. So all the double events we have in the grid (The various Flashback Episodes, Personal Agendas, and DOMINGO GIGANTE!) have been reduced to just 1 event each with twice as many places available. So rather than our usual 18 events (like I wrote up above) there will be just 14 events (with 4 having a max of 16 players)

So long and the short of it is, it may appear that we have less events, but we have the same number of seats available.

So bit of good news/bad news as events are now set in stone. Good news, I have Locations, Rooms, and Table Numbers. Bad news, we're apparently not a Premiere Event Group this year, so we're not in the Marriott like usual, we're out at the JW.

But as I recall, the JW was a good bit quieter than the Marriott, so not really all that disappointed (I just have farther to slog my stuff this year).

EDIT: I edited the initial post of our events listings to add our table numbers.

I emailed them to find out and it turns out, it's because we turned in 112 tickets rather than 116 (really 115.2, but I rounded up). That's only 78% of the total tickets we could have turned in (max being 144). So it wasn't anything we did wrong, save that we upped the max available seats at the table to 8. Seems like an argument to bring the max down to 6 and then take generics again. Hmmm.

Oh and as for why we're at the JW, apparently the Marriott is getting renovated, so everyone not part of some bigger group (like say WotC or JWP) is going out to the JW.

We did, in point of fact, do exactly that.

My wish list-if I get into everything has me booked:
Thursday 6-8 PM
Friday 10am-12pm and 1pm-5pm
Saturday 7pm-1am
Beyond that, I am free to help run/fill out tables as needed.

Just to keep you updated, 8 days until Event Pre-Reg begins.

Just about 3 months until GenCon 2017, the 50th anniversary!

So, all of the Wick 2.0 events are sold out... at $10 a pop.

If Wick were the GM it might be worth it. But, based upon the four 2.0 events I was in last year, at least half of the Headhunter GMs were below average, and none of the rest were nearly as good as ours.

Thank you.

I would not endorse anybody paying 10 bucks for a session at a con. Nobody in the industry is THAT great a GM to be worth it.

Well, outside of our own GMs, Christian MacLeod still runs 7th Sea games at GenCon.

Speaking as someone who's played in two Wick-run events, I wouldn't recommend it. He'll spend the first hour with you making characters (rather than having them ready beforehand). And his adventure will end just as you get to the meat of the adventure (The first time, we recovered the black mask and then didn't do anything with it, and the second time, we met up with Reis in a bar, she yanked one of our mates onto the floor and SCENE). And worst of all, he'll still end the adventure an hour and a half early.

Well, that's terribly disappointing. Though I suppose we've been a bit spoiled, still, I would have expected more from him.
