Ok more wishful thinking on my part, but I know I can get the rooms early for a better price* so I went ahead and booked my room for GenCon next year. For those who are also thinking of it, most places will let you book out of the GenCon pool a year in advance. AND since GenCon next year will be August 4-7, We're already within a year! I got a room at my usual Conrad Hilton. But I bet there are plenty out there already. (Especially with the dearth of gamers this past two years).

So go on! Get your room! We want this damn COVID to be over so we can game together once again!

*NOTE "better price" refers to our getting a discount better than booking just a few months out (when it will be 1-2k PER DAY assuming you can find a place) not a price better than what you can get in the GenCon housing block.

Yeah I do this as well, try to book out for a hotel you know you want that's close to where you want to go to the con. Just trying to decide on what cons to go to next year. Going to see about the Rising Phoenix Con you pointed out to me and maybe Dragon con since I've never been to that one. Would like to go back to Origins in the future but I want to spread out my experience a bit to find the best matches for me.

Just so you know, Matt. Origins is the longest of the cons (5 days instead of 4) and its the only con where we run a LARP (once every 4 years*) assuming you like that kind of thing.

*We will be starting Year 10 (for the second time) in 2022, so you have 2 more years after that for the next LARP.

I booked our room for next year while sitting in our room this year, because why not?

So, GenCon, which doesn't take place until August, has event registration opening May 15th, but Origins, which starts June 8, doesn't open event registration until May 21st?

And this one slipped right by me, TODAY Event Registration begins (in fact it actually began 25 minutes ago). Go Get Tickets!

Apparently none of you needed a reminder. 14 events and 5 are already sold out. Of the rest there are another 3 that are within a ticket or two of selling out. Phew. Very nice start.
