Ok, we are all home and safe. Had a great gaming week, and blew away last year in ticket sales. I believe Mark said we had like 62 tickets sold last year, and this year we did like 83 I think. So that makes for at least 20 new players, unless of course people played the games again, like I ended up doing, but.... this time when I played episode 2, I got to smash Sausage Fingers in the face! Good Times!

Indeed. Thanks for a great Thursday from Jen and me. We are also avid boardgamers so we spent the next two days locked in the dealer room demoing (and buying far too many) games. You guys were wonderful. I especially enjoyed Jen putting her legs on Mark and being the Herald of Don Gallo :)

Ok finally woke up after driving all night. Most awesome moment of the drive. After leaving later than expected (with an estimated time of arrival of 8:30, well after my oldest was to be picked up for school), and being stuck in the Steak and Shake from hell, AND dropping off Eric at his house, I managed to get back to my house JUST as David was climbing into the bus (He was in the bus, had both feet off the ground, but the door hadn't closed yet) so I got to give him a hug and a kiss before he headed off to school.

Laura was right, we did get 21 more tickets this year than last (but then we did run 3 more ticketed events than last year). Though I don't know exactly how many new players we got (I will need to go through the sign up sheets). I can say that we started off with a bang, getting 25 tickets in the first day and running 2 sessions in the very first slot (with 9 new players right away). So I'm guessing we got about 20-25 new players throughout the con.

Personal Agendas was great fun (as usual) with more work getting done on the Vesten lodge, Tomas getting 'up' to his usual antics, and Sister Sonya begging the forgiveness of the Inquisition. That seemed to be the theme of the day as many came to understand the true power of the Holy Office...

But most importantly, however, was the fact that our very own DON GALLO made his very first appearance in La Venganza, giving the crowd a rousing show they will, no doubt, be talking about for some time to come!

(and if I seem to have forgotten anyone, please feel free to share your own remembrances, I'm still a little punchy from lack of sleep).

DOMINGO GIGANTE! was a rousing success too, we managed to scrounge up 11 suckers, er, avid fans who voluntarily got up early on Sunday to play two different sessions (Ep 2 and Ep 5).

Yes but tell us what YOU did in the adventure...

Onto other news, GenCon set another record for attendance with just a hair over 49,000 unique attendees. Sheesh... You can read about it here http://www.gencon.com/press/postshow2013

If you can hit con on the cob in october I am running 2,4,5, and 6. Or you can wait for origins. Or you can wait a long time for gencon.

Thanks for a good GenCon, just what the doctor ordered... Episode 6 was a joy, Deadlands Noir was phenomenal, CV was a lot of fun, Miniatures (wild west) was great, and Rocket was an interesting concept waiting for launch at years end.

That being said, I wish I went to Origins instead.....

Why so, Charlie? More events of your flavor of gaming?

I, for one, am glad you were at GenCon this year. It was really good to see you, Charlie!

We've been discussing Con on the Cob, but we'll have to see just how many of my schedule requests get honored. :P

For me, it's history. This year is the first Origins I missed, ever. I had been to all of the other cons since its inception. I have met some of my best friends that I have in the world, and most of the people on this board are part of that. It's smaller, less crowded, and very very comfortable. GenCon was great, lots of different events, and a lot of fun. But for me, more crowded, and more out of my element. Does that preclude me from going again, no, but if I can only attend 1 con a year, it's Origins....

I agree with you on that one, Charlie. I like the "feel"/atmosphere at Origins better than GenCon, and am really looking forward to getting back to it next year.

Not nessicarily true for all. Though I suspect you will get some of the regulars. In addition you will attract people from a different demographic. Hopefully you can attract some of these to the tabletop, so in the end it is probably a worthy idea.

Yeah, this Larp thing lured in at least 12 members of this campaign to Origins. (including Grace and Rebecca). And we all get that somebody will always not be able to travel out. (for the same reasons you never see me at OGC or GenCon). But I would wager we should see an influx of bodies for events next year.

I live in Columbus, and I readily admit that a major factor in picking my apartment was proximity to the convention center for Origins.
