Helena is the only daughter of Rory O'Roarke and his wife Catherine. She has two older brothers, and two younger brothers; Sean, Willum, Kieran and Magus.
Her father had been a traveling bard for quite a number of years, before he met and married Catherine, and settled down with her at her family farm.
It is from him that Helena gets her musical talents, and wanderlust to see the world, and decided at a young age that she also would be a bard and travel the world.
Her brothers were against the thought of her, their only sister, out in the world without an escort of any type, they did their best to prevent her from leaving. They thought they were smart and said she would have to beat each one of them in a fight, to prove she was able to protect herself out in the world.
Well having four brothers makes you tough...and stubborn. It took a bit, but eventually she did fight them, and beat them in their own fighting style, since she had been doing it for most of her life anyway, growing up with them.
She traveled locally for a while, gathering up songs and stories, but she longed to see more of the world, and decided that she should travel to Altamira, to seek out the university and find what she could find about songs and legends of the past.

Well, I originally worked on the character at Mark's house, after he printed her out, and tweeked her with the extra points I was allowed. Whatever I did, he allowed the 4 resolve. Though I can have him look at it again.

Nationality bonus for Avalons is Resolve (PG, p. 110).

ah, something we differ on. my interpretation was always rank 3 limit included nat. bonus. good for others to know. (I don't think I need to do anything with it)

Player's Guide p. 110 wrote:Bonus by Nationality
After you spend points on Traits, add 1 free Rank to one Trait, as determined by your Hero’s nationality on the table to the left. This may increase the Trait to 4.
