Chicken Wings Day (the rest of the chicken is better)

And...

Lasagna Day (it's like spaghetti you don't have to twirl)

New month, let's see what the events are for August (a month with no holidays)

Peach Month (yet Peach Day was months ago)
Romance Awareness Month (please be tactful in your public romance, the rest of us do not want to see it)

Sandwich Month (we will certainly.have a war over what is and is not a sandwich)

Back to School Month (bwah ha ha! Fun time is over kids!)

Golf Month (not the best month to play condition-wise)

Catfish Month (tasty bottom feeders)

Eye exam Month (I checked, still got two)

Crayon Collection Month (gather them.from behind the couch, you need them for school)

Family Fun Month (the kids are going back to school, time to cram all that stuff you put off in)

Happiness Month (the kids are going back to school!)
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.

Mustard Day (I prefer brown, less nasty stains)

Georgia Day (great stage name there. Georgia is home to some very cool stuff but cool temps ain't one of them)

IPA Day (arguing beer types is like fighting over Coke and Pepsi, it's beer, crack one open and enjoy)

Disc Golf Day (it's target throwing frisbee, call it what it is)

Jamaican Patty Day (no clue but I bet there is Jerk Sauce involved)

Watermelon Day (every smer day is watermelon day, just don't get it and wear the rind on your head, it draws Bees)

Mead Day (better than IPA, also involves Bees)

And...

Grab Some Nuts Day (the tree kind! The tree kind! No groping)
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.

American Family Day (as it is a National Holiday, couldn't it just be "family day"?)

Sisters Day (because they are certainly NOT family)

Coast Guard Day (they do more for this country than most people realize. Give them some props and thank yous)

Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (if you don't have any, just lightly melt the bases of some chocolate chips and "glue" them to the top of the lesser cookies you have)

And...

Friendship Day (I have all the best ones, so you all will have to settle for the ones you got)

I miss you all and the limited time we get face to face. Best wishes to all of you.

Purple Heart Day (sorry you had to get shot or shrapnelled to earn it)

And...

Raspberries N' Cream Day (the "N" is the weird part for me.)
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.

Dollar Day (an extra dollar could make one happy... An extra 100 would do better but take what you can get)

Frozen Custard Day (it defines itself)

this was every day after the first one was harvestable where i grew up. the funniest was when my aunt took us out to drop some off down the road, and came back to find twice as much on our own porch.

I don't get it. Is this some kind of midwestern joke? Cause, to be honest, I'd just eat the zucchini.

Mark.. Imagine that you planted 8 zucchini plants. Then i want you to imagine that 4 months later, you had alread harvested 50+ full size zucchini from them, and had more growing on them. 2 weeks later, you have eaten zucchini every single meal for a month, and still have more growing. and have 100+ zucchini sitting on every available counter space in your kitchen and dining room.

Oh, I just thought it was some mid-western "I'm-trying-to-be-friendly-but-it's-really-just-passive-aggressive" kind of thing.

And besides, you underestimate how much I love zucchini ;)

Ok, then, no more growing tomatoes, now we switch to zucchini for Mark. If zucchini grows so well, and I do like the flowers when they are in bloom, just like pumpkin flowers, but if they are easier to grow than tomatoes, I'll have to get some of them next year instead of the tomatoes, which are not doing well this year.

(And it's just that I like to grow something with flowers, whether I eat it or not, seeing it in flower is nice.)

However many zucchini plants you think you need cut that number in half and then plant half of that number.

I like it too but when your grandpa decides to plant it the first time and over does it, all 25 of the kids and grandkids literally have it on the plate for every meal in August and September. (As well as all his neighbors, your neighbors and anybody driving slow with an open window)

When I was 10 I could receive as many ways to eat zucchini as Bubba had ways to cook shrimp.

Lazy Day (ah, what's the point of saying anything)

S'mores Day (crackers and other stuff)

Bowling Day (it's not even bowling season yet. But league meetings are underway)

Shapewear Day (because you were lazy)

Garage Sale Day (not a good spot to buy shapewear but bowling balls will be plentiful)

Presidential Joke Day (but EVERY day is Children's Day)

Raspberry Bombe Day (sounds like a Montaigne terrorist plot to me)

Sons and Daughters Day (I gotta start reading the whole list before posting, it IS Children's Day)

And...

Spirit of '45 Day (1945? 1845? 1645? I need specifics. Break out some Andrews Sisters and go kiss a nurse or sailor in Times Square)

Julienne Fries Day (I have never heard anyone refer to a Fry by this cut. Eaten plenty of them, though)

Vinyl Records Day (are now disporportionately more expensive than they were in '80)

And...

Middle Child Day (Mom really does love you just as much as her favorites)

Filet Mignon Day (too small and too tender for my tastes)

And...

Left Handers Day (between this and middle child day, it is shaping into imagined slights week)
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.
