Chocolate Eclair Day (it's just another really big donut)

HVAC Tech Day (air conditioning guy really needs his own holiday?)

Onion Ring Day (that is singular so don't overdo it)

And...

The 50th anniversary of the Cuyahoga River catching fire in Cleveland. (That is correct, we set fire to water here.)

I am happy to report that Jenny got home last night, noticed the Malort, gave it a sniff and immediately declared that the alcohol had "Definitely Gone Bad" then promptly poured it all down the drain. In my weakened state (from the flu) I was unable to stop her...

Camera Day (kids, this used to be a box all it's own. And you had to wait a week to see your bad selfie)

Waffle Iron Day (ah, waffle the blessed provider of the perfect origins breakfast)

And...

Parchment Day (which I tried to use for this post but you all would have needed to drive over and read it)

Wow, already time for the next Monthly list (it feels like June was at least a day shorter and five days passed a lot faster than they should have... Maybe it's just me.).

Anyway, here are the July Monthly Observances:

Anti-Boredom Month (if you are booted, go outside and play. I am not telling you again)

Baked Beans Month (I don't think I have eaten baked beans in July in years...too hot to fire up the oven)

Culinary Arts Month (where we perfect the method of baking beans)

Grilling Month (do not tell your Dad that is a culinary arts, he thinks he is the only guy who can cook over fire)

Hot Dog Month (culinary artists will debate the perfect dog. All will ruin it with weird condiments. Grillers who drink more than they pay attention insist they are supposed to be charred)

Ice Cream Month (you scream, I scream we all scream for ice cream...but not for the same reasons)

Picnic Month (a culinary challenge that ofetn involves grills, baked beans and mayo based side dishes that are impossible to keep at a safe temperature. July is for risk taking)

July Belongs To Blueberries Month (the world needs more blue food. The culinary and picnic crowds all worship the mighty strawberry but blueberries are sooooo much better. More nutrition, better flavor and shape, no weird seeds on the cover...)

World Watercolor Month (maybe you can paint a picture of your picnic)

And... (This is a brilliant one, wait for it...)

Unlucky Month For Weddings! (Yeah, someone officially declared that)

On to July 1...

U.S. Postage Stamp Day (they probably have a collectable stamp for it)

Postal Worker Day (carrier day was earlier so this is for the guy in the office who hands you your registered packet with GenCon tickets and sells you commemorative Stamp Day stamps)

Gingersnap Day (this is for cookies, not angry redheads)

And...

Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day (creative is a nice way to say weird idea nobody should eat)

I was thinking wasabi or Malort flavor ice cream but, yeah...weird stuff nobody should eat.

On to today:

Anisette Day (this is either a licorce flavored liqueur or Alanis Morissette has shortened her name)

And...

That's actually the only thing going on today.

Eat Your Beans Day (they are good for you, dear.)

And...

Chocolate Wafer Day (the perfect way to complete a meal of clams and beans)

Admittedly, if all you've ever had are clam strips, then yeah...not impressed. Fried full belly clam though? JACKPOT!

As for chocolate wafers, was so happen when I found a recipe to make them. I can make Fauxreos now!

Barbeque Spareribs Day (wipe your fingers! I am sick of finding rib sauce on the walls.)

Crasar Salad Day (when I think of July, I think of Ceasar Salad...insert your own rolling eyes emojis)

And...

Independence Day (for those of us who were born a few days on either side of this event, it was a real let down when we discovered all those fireworks were not celebrating us.)

I've always preferred dry rubs to BBQ sauces anyways.
