Sisters Day (because they are certainly NOT family)

Coast Guard Day (they do more for this country than most people realize. Give them some props and thank yous)

And...

Friendship Day (I have all the best ones, so you all will have to settle for the ones you got)

I miss you all and the limited time we get face to face. Best wishes to all of you.

this was every day after the first one was harvestable where i grew up. the funniest was when my aunt took us out to drop some off down the road, and came back to find twice as much on our own porch.

I don't get it. Is this some kind of midwestern joke? Cause, to be honest, I'd just eat the zucchini.

Mark.. Imagine that you planted 8 zucchini plants. Then i want you to imagine that 4 months later, you had alread harvested 50+ full size zucchini from them, and had more growing on them. 2 weeks later, you have eaten zucchini every single meal for a month, and still have more growing. and have 100+ zucchini sitting on every available counter space in your kitchen and dining room.

Oh, I just thought it was some mid-western "I'm-trying-to-be-friendly-but-it's-really-just-passive-aggressive" kind of thing.

And besides, you underestimate how much I love zucchini ;)

Ok, then, no more growing tomatoes, now we switch to zucchini for Mark. If zucchini grows so well, and I do like the flowers when they are in bloom, just like pumpkin flowers, but if they are easier to grow than tomatoes, I'll have to get some of them next year instead of the tomatoes, which are not doing well this year.

(And it's just that I like to grow something with flowers, whether I eat it or not, seeing it in flower is nice.)

However many zucchini plants you think you need cut that number in half and then plant half of that number.

I like it too but when your grandpa decides to plant it the first time and over does it, all 25 of the kids and grandkids literally have it on the plate for every meal in August and September. (As well as all his neighbors, your neighbors and anybody driving slow with an open window)

When I was 10 I could receive as many ways to eat zucchini as Bubba had ways to cook shrimp.

Sons and Daughters Day (I gotta start reading the whole list before posting, it IS Children's Day)

Filet Mignon Day (too small and too tender for my tastes)

And...

Left Handers Day (between this and middle child day, it is shaping into imagined slights week)
