So, for those not in Ohio, a bit of context:

The closures and reopening of business and services has gone off relatively smoothly. There were those who disagreed from the start but for the most part, folks have taken it for what it had to be.

The one real dumpster fire was the absolute fit that was thrown by Gyms and fitness centers who just could not accept they were not allowed to reopen on day one. (Because a bunch of strangers breathing hard and sweating all over shared equipment and then sharing locker rooms could not possibly spread a virus) They protested, they filed lawsuits, they disparaged the Governor and his health director to the point she required a security detail. It was in every sense of the phrase, a dumpster fire.

Then last night on my failed attempt to run to the store right before closing, i got held up in traffic caused by firetrucks... There was an ACTUAL Dumpster fire in front of the local Gym. Seemed like a fun irony.

But, this being the second or third dumpster fire i have witnessed, I think we need a new phrase for a terrible mess. A dumpster fire is really pretty well contained and the only real loss is garbage.

And sometimes, the dumpster itsself, Having seen a couple.. and let me tell you, watching a dumpster fire where the dumpster is within 15 feet of 30 propane tanks, and 40 feet of the gas pumps is not so awesome.

It has the potential for awesome. But that depends on if you have to fix the aftermath.

My favorite was at a VFW, where a member on the fire department discarded a cigarette butt into the dumpster while smoking outside. (It is next to the local comic shop. We were mid game night and had a blast watching that while playing funemployed)

My sister sent on a pic from the internet this morning...at 3 am...

You may have seen it, it is a gate for an apartment swimming pool announcing it will be closed...

Due to the "Carnivorous".

Just what we need next, meat eating water.

No, september is for college football and NFL truggered relapse. And a semi-ironic crash of the 911 phone system on september 12.

And a pumpkin spice shortage.

Yeah, those pumpkin heads are a bit psychotic in their obsession. (Never mind two months of nothing to sell because, suddenly, everything contains it including gasoline.)

So, California is now banning singing during worship services (because singing expels a lot of air and spit vapor into the air)

Why is the first thing i picture the scene from Holy Grail where the Lord of the castle that sank into the swamp bursts into the room shouting, "No singing!"?

A friend pointed out 2020 may have all been a scripted Python skit.

Terry Jones set the whole thing up and bailed out.

So, meat eating water:
Florida now has samples of a fatal Brain eating amoeba in the water.

Just remember, I called it so i don't have to catch it.

So, this morning at work, i am in mask making mode because one cannot switch masks often enough in 90 degree heat. (And walmart had a pack of really cool chibi style Avengers material)

So here I am stitching together a Captain America patterned mask when the pattern crosses my stitch line and I have to do the unthinkable...

I stuck a needle in Cap's eye.

A couple stitches later, i had to do something worse...

Needle in the Big Toe.

Still gotta handle Thor, Iron Man, Hulk and a Team collage. Better practice, don't want Hulk angry.

Remember the good old days? In particular, do you remember what we were all trying to get our hands on before Toilet paper, meat, covid tests, N95 masks, PPE, and Sanitizer?

I crunched the numbers.

Keep in mind, i am salary so o get paid the same no matter how many or few hours i work.

As of closing time on Sunday, it had been 120 days since we reopened following the covid shutdown on Ohio. 17 weeks. I have worked everyday for at least 12 hours and up to 15.5 hours pending customer traffic.

In 120 days that means i am over 1,500 hours. (Or about 37.5 regular full time work weeks. Good thing the days are getting shorter.

Ohio is looking at a way to reduce disease spread from bars (without outright closing them and ruining many businesses)

Last Call will be at 10 pm.

Drink up by 11.

Allegedly, my dinner theatre company is having a show next Saturday.

I say "allegedly" because we've not gotten ANY info yet as to what our new performance guidelines are supposed to be.

I would highly recommend it be a not happening event.

I know you all work hard on this stuff but with the county still under a heavy case listing, the last thing you want is to be listed as the site of a new outbreak in a week or two.

Places that happen at ate hard pressed to live down the reputation as unsafe even if they did everything right.

Oh, it gets even more asinine.

FINALLY got the new protocols, but they don't really say anything helpful. Meanwhile Mike (who's been asked to fill in for one of the actors) calls the hotel to see if they have any new info.

"No...there's no show on Saturday that we're aware of!"

Now, maybe there's been some miscommunication between the front desk and management. This has certainly happened before. But Mike goes to warn our host who's also been thrown to the wolves here to give him a heads' up. We'll see if our producers drag their feet yet again on this.

Yeah protocol wording is not a strong skillset in Ohio.

They spend most of it telling you 19 different things about the bathroom and no actual info about face to face interactions.

Keep the ground rules as best as you can. 6 feet distant, masks as much as possible even during performance if you can. 6 feet from audience at least, more is better. Handle nothing touched by others if you can avoid it. Wash hands every chance you get.

And (with a nod to Arrested Development) NO TOUCHING!

Best excuse to not meet a President and touring a factory on the market. I would probably consider the virus a better option than touring a factory in Clyde, Ohio.

I would tell him to "get well soon" but in this case,, it is safer to follow the protocols and get well in 14 days.

I just feel bad for the staff over at the Shoreby having to deal with all that crap last night. Worked a show there a couple of years ago and they were good people.
