I usually see about two or three movies in the theater each year, and saw my second for 2011: Hugo.

It's got a bit of everything, including 3D and a primer on silent movies in the first decade or two of their creation.

I liked it a lot and give it 4 stars. Of course, 14 year old males of all ages and genders might find it boring.

The addition of "3D" to anything is a big black mark against it as far as I'm concerned. Its just the new way to charge an extra $3 for the hard work it took one computer guy to push one button (yes that is litterally how difficult it is to make a 2D movie into a 3D now).

But I will admit I was at least intrigued by the trailers for this movie. It'll probably be a rental for me though.

I know this is a movie, I've seen ads about it, but everytime I look at the post title, all I can think of it as is "Soap", as in literally. There is a company that makes homemade soap products and candles that just did a big holiday display and sample day in the store. The name of the company is "Hugo".

The rumour I've heard about the latest push for 3D is that the studios think it'll cut down on piracy.
