Historic bar ordered painted over.

A bar made with the salvaged wood of the Spanish Armada, and frequented by Sir F Drake has been ordered painted over. I say if the owners are willing to risk the "danger" of a fire let them be. Better the history be saved than we please some short sighted bureaucrat.
