Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D!

Just saw a ad that this will be on tonight at 8pm on ABC. Figures, I usually have the early shift on Tuesdays, but was helping out another woman who has to pick her husband up from the hospital tonight, so I changed shifts with her. Ah well, don't have tv anyway, guess I'll just have to wait for the DVD's. :P

I've had it in the DVR queue for over a week now (ever since it showed up in the tv listings). You want me to save for you?

Save her everything but the last 10 minutes. Let me just tell you what happens. A lone wolf rule ignoring agent gets dragged back into the office and forced to form part of a bigger team with the surprise teturn of agent Coulson. They go recruit a pair of awkward tech nerds, a sassy super agent (because we have to have a Buffy) who resents the job and probalby one more smart guy that spend a lot of time doing computer stuff. Then they chafe at each other while trying to solve a crime that turns out to be a major plot by either Hydra or AIM to wreck something in New York or DC. The team bonds in the last 15 minutes to get the job done. And at the end, instead of. Saying "good job", Coulson hands them a new assignment.

Don't forget the (female) Broken Bird who knows Waif-Fu!

And he'll probably shoot a perky young girl into space and make her stay there.

Wife and I watched it last night on DVR. Fun. Didn't grab me with the power of the Whedon but entertaining.

realized something yesterday.

If Agent Coulson is a replacement LMD/clone/whatever like they are hinting at and he doesn't remember being replaced, they can potentially kill him every episode and reboot him.

I sense some good comedy in this.

I was thinking that and, "I'm not dead yet..." "I feel happy!"

But Laura will never get that reference. (It's a python thing)

I'm almost positive a South Park reference is likewise lost...

:P (Sticks tongue out at Mark) I know about South Park, though I wasn't really a fan of it. Everyone else around me used to watch it though.

Ok watched the second episode last night. This has potential, but they're just not utilizing it. Gonna give it a chance to gel, but I'm not sure they can do so before it gets cancelled...

But I must say the Nick Fury cameo was cool, and next week they're hinting we may see Gravitron.

NOTE to all LONG TERM Marvel fans, do NOT expect canon to be adhered to in this show, or you will go crazy. Oh and btw Gravitron is now Agent Colson's fault...

I watched these over at Jeremy's house yesterday. (yep all 3). And I have a couple thoughts... 1- I am pretty sure that's James Franco playing the field agent on the team. Sure they are using a different name for the actor but he looks like Franco, tries to act like Franco and squints like Franco. 2- the shape of the plane, the SUV in the cargo bay, the charming leader, the combat ready lady second in command and the team composition all tell me the same thing... This show is really Firefly. And Skye is going to end up being River Tam. 3- with number 2 so obvious, this show is going to get cancelled before they reveal anything about the pilot's mysterious background. 4-this show really needed a crossover with Leverage.

I kinda wish I hadn't. It was better in my head than on screen. But jeremy offered option 2 as more episodes of "Arrow" and I really found that to be less than entertaining.

I liked arrow for what it was, but i'm not really sold on this season 2. First ep really was kinda blah to me.

I'm streaming the 3rd episode online. Now I know this is a suspend some level of disbelief type of show, however an agent just took a double barrel shotgun from a bad guy and they made the SFX for a shotgun being pumped to load a shell.
