"Toughness: All your Wound checks have one extra Kept die" So, if my character has a Brawn of 3 and needs to try to soak the damage, does she roll 4k4 or 3k4 and if it's the latter, how the heck do I pull that off?!

About ToughnessYeah, I've played the game for over ten years and this is the first time it's actually come up for me.

Re: About ToughnessEasy to do, LG. Brawn Check (with a 3 Brawn) is 3k3. Toughness adds one kept die (1k1) so adding both sides you get 4k4.
Re: About ToughnessDanke, BJR...just wanted to check if it was in fact that easy.

Re: About ToughnessThe one that messes me up all the time is darkness penalties. So you normally roll 6k3 but in darkness you're at a penalty of 2 kept dice. Every time I say, ok that's 4k3, but nope, its 4k1
Re: About ToughnessThis new character of mine has Toughness AND uses a crossbow. So I get to deal with the lovely "2k3 but doesn't use Brawn" schtick (it's "take a raise and if you succeed it's then 3k3", right?).

Re: About ToughnessThat's correct. Crossbows potentially are very painful things to be on the wrong end of but it sort of requires a little more time and aimingto be effective (which is what that mechanic tries to emulate).
I don't mind growing old... but I hate growing up.
