Welcome to
An Introduction for Your Character
Just before the campaign begins, for reasons of your own, you have decided to make a trip to Canguine, a cursed (so legend says) town filled to the very brim with criminals, reprobates, and ne'er-do-wells. In other words, just your kind of place.
It is a city balanced on a precipice. On the one hand, it is an important port city, vital to all manner of trade (import and export) throughout southern Avalon. On the other, the preponderance of criminality means there is a chance your goods will be stolen by the very people you intended to sell them to. Despite this distressing fact, merchants still ply their trade here, implying there's still money to be made, even if it is risky. Pirates abound, and the city's activities cater to them, meaning lawlessness and debauchery abound. At the same time, Canguine is also the informal home of Her Majesty's Navy, The Sea Dogs, and Theus help any privateer who runs afoul of them. And all that is before adding the curse into the mix...
Speaking of, as you've no doubt heard, legend says an unnamed Sidhe cursed the town hundreds of years ago, "to be chaotic and disorganized until such time as its inhabitants can be polite to one another for an entire day." Being the contrarian lot they are, Canguine's residents have ensured it's never come to pass. Which kind of explains the lawlessness, sin, piracy, and the like.
Just remember, in a town like this, adventure is never far away. And you, my friend, have never been able to deny its siren call. Welcome to Canguine.
Navigating the Website
Along the left-hand side of the page, you’ll find links to the pages that explain how the Guild of San Marcos run games, where we run games, and a forum to ask questions, along with the credits for those who have (and continue to) help us along the way.
Below that are the links specific to The Rogues of Canguine. There you will find links to all the information your character can learn before arriving (including, the people, places, and things you might need to know), instructions for how to make characters, maps of the city, Avalon, and Theah, and (when we get there) synopses of the retired events (which you will still be able play, so you may not want to read those right away, unless you like spoilers. But where's the fun in that?).
